Job Description
Machine Operators are responsible for loading, operating, and unloading automated machinery used in the production of parts for the automotive, medical, and other key industries. Machine operators are responsible for operating the automatic machinery efficiently, ensuring safety, quality, and production standards.
KEY RESULTS AREAS
Safety/5S/Housekeeping
- Adhere strictly to all safety policies, protocols, and work standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times
- Report any safety concerns or incidents immediately to a supervisor
Quality
- Follow all quality protocols, policies, and standards of work
- Perform inspections using basic measuring tools
- Report any quality concerns promptly
- Work from work instructions, work orders, and routings.
Machine Operation
- Operate automated machines in compliance with safety, quality, and production standards
- Load and unload materials, monitor for machine jams or malfunctions
- Visually inspect parts for quality and conformance to specifications
- Record production and quality data accurately in logs, production boards, or systems
- Clean and maintain machinery according to maintenance guidelines
- Alert supervisors to material or equipment issues.
- Prepare time and production records
- Note: This position does not involve machine setup
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required
- Basic proficiency in English required
- Basic math and reading comprehension skills
EXPERIENCE
- Preferably 3 years of experience operating automated machinery in a manufacturing setting
- Willing to train candidates without prior manufacturing experience
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and measuring/inspection equipment

Additional Information
This position is part of the bargaining unit and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Base Hourly Pay: $19.58/hr; 2nd shift premium as applicable: $1.00/hr
