About the client
Our client is an established German automotive supplier with a global footprint and a history spanning more than 150 years. As a family-owned business, they combine the stability of a long-term employer with the pace of an industry going through rapid technological change.
They are currently building a new SAP Service Center in Cluj-Napoca, which will support and develop their international SAP landscape. This is a genuine build-from-scratch opportunity — the team is being formed now, and the people who join early will help shape how it works.
About the role
As an SAP ABAP Developer, you will support and enhance an SAP landscape used across multiple countries and business units. Your work will span support cases, change requests and small enhancement projects across the FI, CO, SD, MM, PP, PS and WM modules.
You will work closely with functional consultants who translate business needs into requirements, and you will turn those requirements into working solutions. Communication with colleagues in Germany happens in English, German is not required.
The organisation is preparing for a transition to SAP S/4HANA, which means you will have the opportunity to work with modern SAP technologies alongside the classic ABAP stack.
Responsibilities
ABAP development: reports, enhancements, forms, interfaces and interactive transactions
Analysis and technical implementation of change requests
Debugging and performance optimisation
Close collaboration with SAP functional consultants across FI, CO, SD, MM, PP, PS and WM
Writing and maintaining technical documentation
Contributing to technical improvement and optimisation initiatives
Qualifications
2–5 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development
Solid knowledge of reports, BAdIs, user exits and enhancements
Experience with forms (SmartForms and/or Adobe Forms)
Working knowledge of interfaces: IDoc, RFC, BAPI
Experience with debugging and performance tuning
Basic understanding of SAP FI, CO, SD, MM, PP and WM processes
Fluent English (German is not required)
Structured, team-oriented working style
Nice to have: experience with SAP S/4HANA, CDS Views, OData services, Fiori/UI5, basic knowledge of SAP authorization concepts.
