Schedule: |
Students in this role work onsite and provide in person assistance to library patrons at a circulation desk. Most circulation assistants work 6-8 per week. However, they may work more or less depending on their availability. Students can expect to work a regular schedule during the semester. Schedules will change each semester based on student availability. Students are scheduled during library open hours and the 15 minutes before and after for opening & closing duties. Summer Open Hours: M-F 9am-5pm Fall/Spring Open Hours: M-Th: 8am-11:30pm F: 8am-8pm Sa: 12pm-8pm Su: 12pm-11:30pm Strong preference will be given to applicants who are interested in an ongoing appointment (i.e., working more than 1 semester) as well as available and willing to work during the following shifts: Openings (7:45AM - 10:30AM) Closings (8:00PM/9:00PM - 11:45PM) Mondays 10:30AM - 1:00PM Tuesdays 10:30AM - 1:00PM Wednesdays 12:00PM - 2:30PM Thursdays 10:00AM - 1:00PM |

Position Summary/Job Duties: |
Access Services staff are the front facing customer service representatives for the UW-Libraries. The goal of our work is to help patrons access library services, materials and spaces. Creating and maintaining a welcoming environment is central to Access Services work. We also collaborate across locations to provide continuity of service. |
