Based in Christchurch, this Account Manager role offers the chance to manage and grow an established customer portfolio while helping us better support our Mandarin-speaking trade and business customers across the region.

What's involved

This role is all about building strong relationships, creating value for customers and helping businesses succeed.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Manage and grow an existing portfolio of Trade, Builder and Commercial customers across Christchurch and the wider region.

  • Develop tailored sales strategies that identify growth opportunities and strengthen customer partnerships.

  • Engage with Mandarin-speaking customers, providing exceptional service and helping them navigate Bunnings' products and solutions.

  • Generate new business through proactive relationship building, networking and customer outreach.

  • Re-engage former customers and uncover opportunities to expand market share.

  • Work closely with local store teams and Commercial colleagues to deliver the best possible customer experience.

  • Use your product knowledge and commercial acumen to provide practical solutions that support customers' projects and business goals.

  • Contribute to a positive safety culture and help ensure safety remains at the centre of everything we do.

About You

You're a relationship-focused sales professional who enjoys connecting with people from diverse backgrounds and building trust through great service.

You'll thrive in this role if you're proactive, commercially minded and motivated by delivering results while genuinely helping customers succeed. You're comfortable developing new business opportunities, maintaining strong customer relationships and collaborating with others to achieve shared goals.

Most importantly, you're someone who values teamwork, embraces challenges and enjoys being part of a supportive environment where colleagues celebrate success together.

What you'll need

  • Previous experience in Account Management, Business Development or Commercial Sales.

  • Ability to communicate confidently in both Mandarin and English.

  • Experience building and maintaining long-term customer relationships.

  • Strong negotiation, influencing and relationship management skills.

  • A track record of achieving sales targets and identifying growth opportunities.

  • Confidence engaging with a wide range of stakeholders across trades, construction, commercial or related industries.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • A commitment to safety and delivering exceptional customer service.

  • Knowledge of the building, trade or construction industry will be highly regarded.
