Accountant - iGaming

About this role

We have a great opportunity for an Accountant to join a well-established group of companies.
In this role, you will be responsible for the management of day-to-day accounting operations. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with strong technical knowledge who can thrive in a dynamic, multi-entity iGaming business.

The right candidate for the role must have extensive experience from working within igaming or Fintech in Malta. 

This is a hybrid role, offering a salary of up to €50K.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate accounting records, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals

  • Prepare and review balance sheet and income statement schedules

  • Assist with monthly and year-end closing, ensuring compliance with IFRS

  • Prepare financial statements and regulatory filings

  • Liaise with auditors and tax advisors

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payrolls, and transactions

Education, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent thereof

  • Professional certification (ACCA, CFA, or CPA) is required for to be considered for the higher end of the salary

  • 5+ years of accounting experience in iGaming or Fintech in Malta- non-negotiable

  • Experience from working with international multi-entity companies

  • Experience of working in Malta and handling reporting with Maltese authorities

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and local statutory reporting requirements in the EU

  • Proficient with ERP systems

  • Able to work independently and coordinate with internal teams, auditors, and external advisors

  • Excellent attention to detail, organized, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

About the Role

  • Salary €40-50K

  • Professional certification (ACCA, CFA, or CPA) is required for to be considered for the higher end of the salary

  • Based in St Julian's, Malta

  • Hybrid-remote (min 2 days at the office weekly)

  • Standard working hours 8:00 - 17:00 (including lunch break)
