TrueTimber Outdoors is currently seeking an Accounting Manager to join our dynamic finance team.  The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations of a multi-entity organization, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting management with timely financial analysis and decision-making. This role manages the monthly close process, prepares financial statements, supervises accounting staff, and works closely with operational leaders to analyze business performance, inventory, gross margins, and operating expenses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, budget-to-actual analyses, and management reporting packages.
  • Monitor and analyze revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, EBITDA, and profitability across multiple business entities and product lines.
  • Oversee inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, inventory reconciliations, and related margin analysis.
  • Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and adjusting entries.
  • Partner with operations, sales, and executive management to identify financial trends, explain variances, and improve business performance.
  • Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
  • Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate external audits, tax support, and requests from lenders, owners, or business partners.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff while promoting continuous process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Support special projects, acquisitions, intercompany accounting, and system or process enhancements as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, consumer products, distribution, or retail environments.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, inventory accounting, cost accounting, and budget management.
  • Experience managing month-end close and preparing management financial reports.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
