Job Purpose

The Actuarial Associate Manager (In-force Business) is responsible for providing actuarial insights through claims management analysis, supporting business decision-making, risk monitoring, and portfolio management. The role applies professional judgement to investigate claims experience, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive continuous improvements in reporting, analytics, and operational processes.

Contribute to team objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.


Key responsibilities

Scope 1: Claims management

  • Lead the monitoring and analysis of claims experience, identifying emerging trends, key drivers, and material variances to support actuarial reporting, business planning, and management decision-making.
  • Manage claims-related investigations and deep-dive analyses, collaborating with Claims, Underwriting, Finance, and other stakeholders to understand experience movements and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Act as a key point of contact for actuarial and claims-related data requests, providing accurate, timely, and decision-ready analysis to support business needs and stakeholder discussions.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and contribute to cross-functional initiatives involving claims management, in-force management, risk monitoring, and actuarial reporting.

Scope 2: Process enhancement

  • Maintain robust documentation, controls, and governance standards across assigned processes to ensure auditability, consistency, and operational resilience.
  • Identify opportunities to improve analytical methodologies, reporting capabilities, and operational processes, and drive initiatives that enhance efficiency, controls, and business insight.

Scope 3: Reinsurance

  • Support the implementation of the new reinsurance model.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for the new process
  • Support reinsurance reporting and operational activities as required.

Scope 4: Ad-hoc

Support the team Senior Manager/ Head of IFC with other ad-hoc related requests.


Requirements

Qualification:

  • Mandatory: Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Advantage: Progress towards a recognized actuarial qualification (SOA, IFoA, or equivalent) preferred.

Experiences:

  • Mandatory: 3–5 years of actuarial, insurance, claims analytics, or related experience.

Knowledge and skill set:

  • Mandatory:
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Advantage:

Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Python, R, SQL, or similar analytical tools is an advantage.
