The University of New Hampshire at Manchester’s Department of Business and Communication Arts seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to join the Communication Arts program to teach undergraduate courses in areas such as media studies and cinema studies. The position currently entails teaching one course entitled Introduction to Media Studies to be taught in-person in spring semester 2027. This course meets one day each week for fifteen weeks, with each class session running 2 hours and 50 minutes. Future courses may be assigned as needed and available.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • The Communication Arts adjunct faculty member will teach courses as assigned by the program coordinator.

Requirements:

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

  • Master’s degree

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Theoretical and historical knowledge in media studies and cinema studies

  • Course content preparation abilities

  • Teaching and classroom management skills for both in-person and synchronous online instruction

  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems such as Canvas to support student learning and instruction

Preferred Qualifications:

  • University-level teaching experience with undergraduate students

  • Experience teaching courses in media studies and cinema studies

  • Experience and availability to teach courses that meet in-person

  • Experience and availability to teach courses using a synchronous online modality

Compensation Pay Range:

$4,000
