Location: Region C/ (Fulton County) CVE Division

The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) oversees the day-to-day operation of the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Capitol Police and the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division (CVE). We currently have a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an Admin Assistant 3 to support Region C of the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division.

This position is perfect for candidates who seek a challenging opportunity to serve the citizens of Georgia while providing critical administrative support to Troopers and other department personnel. Under the supervision of the Region Commander, the Admin Asst 3 performs a wide range of administrative and office support activities to help ensure that the Region is running smoothly and efficiently.

A typical workday includes, but is not limited to:

1. Providing administrative support to the department. Preparing a variety of correspondence, reports, and forms. Establishing and maintaining the post’s filing system. Composing correspondence.
2. Working closely with the department’s Open Records Unit to respond to open records requests involving the Region.
3. Scheduling appointments and maintaining calendar of activities, meetings and various events for Region Command, Region NCOs, CVO Command, and other department personnel.

4. Serving as the receptionist for the Region to include answering and transferring incoming calls appropriately and/or taking messages, greeting visitors and directing to proper locations, providing general information to the public regarding department activities of a public nature and referring difficult and unusual problems to the appropriate official.
5. Monitoring the use of supplies and placing orders for replenishment utilizing a P-Card procurement system.


Required Personal Characteristics:

Excellent computer skills. Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize tasks and assignments. Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

No polygraph examination is required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience working independently with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
2. Previous experience processing Open Records requests for a public sector employer.
3. Successful experience providing administrative support for a unit that included dealing with issues, situations, and documents of a sensitive and/or confidential nature.
4. Experience composing and formatting correspondence and other documents.
5. Experience copying DVDs.
6. Purchasing experience, specifically E-procurement and purchasing card reconciliation.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of job-related experience; or two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Admin Assistant 2 (GST051) or position equivalent.
