Job Description
Main Duties, Responsibilities, and Expectations
- Perform the necessary engineering tasks to design electrical test equipment (hardware and software) used for the electrical evaluation of parts, assemblies, or finished products manufactured in operational processes.
- Coordinate activities with design teams to develop electrical test equipment (hardware and software).
- Generate and maintain the required engineering documentation (drawings, documentation, and software records) related to the design of electrical test equipment.
- Ensure at all times that the designed electrical test equipment complies with required safety standards before being released for use in operational processes, in accordance with HSE standards.
- Participate in the mechanical and electrical construction of test equipment, either internally or with external suppliers.
- Provide the necessary technical training and troubleshooting support for the designed test equipment.
- Plan and manage the budget for each project.
Knowledge, Education, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar position (preferably in the electronics industry).
- Experience in the design and construction of test equipment and electrical alignment test equipment (required).
- Experience with Visual Studio, VB, TestStand, LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, VXI, and PXI applied to test equipment design.
- Knowledge of test equipment software design (application code development).
- Ability to interface with local and external design teams during the test development process.
- Practical knowledge in the selection, installation, configuration, and maintenance of PCs.
- Practical knowledge of computer networks.
- Up-to-date knowledge of automation technologies.
- Strong analog and digital hardware design skills.
- In-depth knowledge of CVI software.
- Excellent reporting, writing, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma methodology; minimum Green Belt certification preferred.
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Highly organized, with the ability to support multiple manufacturing areas and processes.
- Intermediate level of English proficiency.
- Green Belt certification (desirable).
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and Environmental Management System (EMS) standards.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and tools.
