AI Project Manager
Ahmedabad, IndiaFull-timeMid · 3-5 years
About this role
Location: Ahmedabad
Timing: 11 AM – 8 PM
Reports to: Head of AI / Leadership
Why this role exists
AI is no longer a side offering at Rivulet IQ — it's a full department, with its own team, clients, and delivery standards. This role exists to lead that department: managing the AI team, owning client relationships for AI engagements, and making sure every AI project moves from idea to deployment in a structured, predictable way.
This isn't a hands-on-the-keyboard AI engineering role — it's a leadership role that sits between clients, the AI team, and delivery outcomes. We need someone who understands AI/LLM concepts well enough to evaluate feasibility and guide technical conversations, while also being a strong people manager and a clear communicator.
This role is for someone who enjoys:
- Owning a department's delivery output, not just individual projects
- Managing and developing a specialized technical team
- Translating client business problems into structured AI project plans
- Staying close to a fast-evolving field without needing to code every solution themselves
If you're someone who can manage people and client relationships with equal confidence, and you're genuinely curious about how AI gets applied in real business problems, this role will give you ownership over a growing part of the company.
What you'll really be doing
1. AI Project Planning & Execution
- Own end-to-end project lifecycle management for AI engagements, from discovery to final delivery
- Translate client business problems into clear technical requirements and structured project plans for the AI team
- Define project scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
- Monitor progress, anticipate risks, and proactively address roadblocks
- Manage multiple concurrent AI projects while maintaining delivery quality and deadlines
2. Team & Department Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage the AI team — developers, engineers, and solution specialists
- Assign tasks based on team strengths, expertise, and project requirements
- Monitor workload distribution and track capacity/utilization across the AI department
- Support hiring, onboarding, and capability-building within the AI team in coordination with HR
3. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain structured documentation including SOWs, technical briefs, project roadmaps, and requirement documents
- Create internal and client-facing reports, dashboards, and status updates
- Maintain accurate project records, change requests, and communication logs
- Ensure documentation supports clarity, traceability, and scope control
4. Communication & Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on AI engagements
- Maintain clear, structured communication between India teams, US teams, and clients
- Conduct project meetings, sprint reviews, and status update calls
- Ask the right clarifying questions to prevent ambiguity and scope creep
5. Quality & Process Improvement
- Monitor AI project health and ensure adherence to quality standards
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and recommend improvements
- Support implementation of delivery best practices across the AI department
6. AI Strategy & Workflow Optimization
- Stay current on AI tools, platforms, and industry trends (LLMs, agentic workflows, automation) relevant to client solutions
- Evaluate technical feasibility of client AI requests and guide solution approach
- Leverage AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Notion AI, or similar) to streamline documentation, summarize meetings, and enhance reporting efficiency
Who will thrive in this role
- You can manage both people and client relationships with equal confidence
- You understand AI/LLM concepts deeply enough to evaluate what's feasible, even if you don't build it yourself
- You bring structure to a fast-moving, still-evolving field
- You take ownership of department-level outcomes, not just individual tasks
- You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- You stay curious about where AI is heading and how it applies to real business problems
