About the Role

As an Area Manager, you will oversee multifamily community operations within the Boston, MA market, ensuring alignment with company goals by optimizing processes and supporting on-site teams to deliver exceptional resident experiences. This role emphasizes financial performance, regulatory compliance, and resident satisfaction, while developing leadership skills for career progression. Frequent travel within the Boston market is required. To support travel, a monthly auto allowance is provided.

Lead and Develop

  • Support and coach Community Managers to foster collaboration.
  • Mentor teams for growth and success.
  • Promote Fairfield’s culture of trust and accountability.

Drive Performance

  • Partner with teams to meet budgets and control expenses.
  • Review financial reports and implement cost-saving strategies.
  • Ensure strong community performance.

Enhance the Resident Experience

  • Implement engagement strategies to boost satisfaction.
  • Address resident concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Oversee retention initiatives and community events.

Ensure Compliance

  • Maintain high standards of regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with compliance teams on audits and reviews.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies.

What We're Looking For

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Real Estate preferred.
  • CAM or CPM certification preferred.
  • Real estate license and certifications such as COS, CPO, HCCP, or C3P are advantageous.
  • 3+ years of progressive community management experience, ideally in multifamily housing.
  • Familiarity with compliance programs such as Tax Credit Compliance and HUD Section 8.
  • Experience with lease-ups and community redevelopments; multi-site management experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in community management software (e.g., Yardi).
  • Working knowledge of Massachusetts Chapter 40B affordable housing programs, including eligibility, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated understanding of federal, state, and local housing laws and regulations applicable to affordable housing communities in Massachusetts.

Estimated Rate of Pay:
$96,800.00 - $114,440.00
This position is exempt; the range above reflects annual salary.

The pay range displayed for this position is determined by skills and experience required, location and job complexity*. Potential job offers may vary based on the skills, education, and experience an individual candidate holds. This range reflects base rate only, and does not include allowances, perks, commissions or bonuses applicable to this position (if any). In addition to base salary, Fairfield offers all full time associates the following, upon meeting eligibility requirements:
