About this role

Job Title: Armed Security Guard (Guardia Particolare Giurata - GPG)

Location: U.S. Army Garrison Italy (USAG Italy) – Vicenza and Livorno Military Communities, Italy. Duty locations include Caserma Ederle, Caserma Del Din, Villaggio Military Housing Community, Caserma Matteo Miotto, Torri di Quartesolo Compound, Lerino Compound, Camp Darby, U.S. Army Depot Livorno, and the Pisa Ammunition Storage Area (PASA).

Type of Job: Full-Time Position

Schedule: Rotating shifts, Monday through Sunday, including days, nights, weekends, and U.S. and Italian holidays. Security services are provided 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Summary:

The Armed Security Guard is responsible for protecting U.S. Army personnel, facilities, equipment, and property throughout USAG Italy installations. The position involves controlling access to military installations, conducting security patrols, monitoring electronic security systems and CCTV, inspecting vehicles, verifying identification credentials, responding to incidents, and enforcing installation security procedures in accordance with U.S. Army regulations and applicable Italian laws.

Minimum Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must meet all training and qualification requirements necessary to serve as an armed private security guard in Italy.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience performing armed security, military security, law enforcement, or private security services is preferred.
  • Experience performing access control, security patrols, CCTV monitoring, or facility protection is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and Italian.

Requirements:

  • Must possess legal authorization to work in Italy.
  • Must qualify and maintain status as a Guardia Particolare Giurata (GPG) under Italian law.
  • Must possess a valid Italian weapon permit for the assigned work area.
  • Must successfully pass all Government and host nation background checks.
  • Must meet all medical and psychological fitness requirements.
  • Must be able to wear body armor and perform prolonged standing, walking, and patrol duties.

Duties:

  • Control pedestrian and vehicle access at installation entry points.
  • Verify identification credentials, passes, and badges.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and security screenings.
  • Perform static security at assigned guard posts.
  • Conduct roving patrols of military facilities and restricted areas.
  • Monitor CCTV and other electronic security systems.
  • Respond to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents.
  • Enforce installation security procedures and Special Guard Orders.
  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and incident documentation.
  • Report suspicious activities and security violations.
  • Provide professional assistance to military personnel, authorized visitors, and contractors.
  • Protect Government property, facilities, personnel, and sensitive assets while maintaining compliance with U.S. Army policies and Italian regulations.
