About this role

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of institutional contracting matters, including new agreements, renewals, amendments, RFP-related contract support, and ad hoc requests—from intake through execution.
  • Draft and prepare agreement packages using approved templates (e.g., investment management agreements, schedules/exhibits, disclosures, fee exhibits), ensuring completeness and adherence to standards.
  • Support negotiations with institutional clients and counsel on commercial and operational terms, while coordinating exceptions for stakeholder review.
  • Review and summarize client redlines and comments; identify key issues, themes, and risks; recommend positions and proposed language based on precedent, business objectives, and stakeholder input.
  • Engage internal stakeholders with concise, well-framed requests that outline trade-offs, implications, and recommended next steps to enable timely decisions.
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready records, approvals, and version control in contract/workflow systems; manage pipeline priorities, deadlines, and reporting on progress and cycle times.
  • Contribute to process improvements (templates, playbooks, checklists, workflows) to enhance efficiency and client experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) with 2-5 years of relevant experience in contracts, legal/contract support, client onboarding, or institutional client service operations (financial services preferred).
  • Ability to interpret and negotiate contract terms, manage redlines, and drive matters to execution in partnership with control and business stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical writing and executive-level summarization skills, including the ability to communicate recommendations and rationale clearly.
  • Sound judgement and risk awareness: able to identify non-standard terms, assess materiality, and escalate appropriately while proposing pragmatic alternatives.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and prioritization skills in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
  • Professional communication and collaboration skills across client-facing and internal stakeholder groups.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting institutional asset management clients (e.g., pensions, endowments, sovereigns, insurers) and related documentation.
  • Familiarity with investment management agreement structures and common negotiation topics (e.g., fees, liability/indemnity, reporting, privacy/confidentiality, termination).
  • Experience using Contract Lifecycle Management /workflow tools and working within a controlled, audit-conscious environment.
