Job Summary: Our client, who is in the gold mining industry, is seeking an Accountant Assistant to join their finance and accounting team. The Accountant Assistant will support the team by performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks to ensure accurate financial record keeping, efficient processing of transactions, and compliance with regulations. This role is key in managing accounts payable/receivable, assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes, and providing timely support during audits. Responsibilities: Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records. Process and record invoices, payments, receipts, and other financial transactions. Support the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and financial statements. Reconcile bank statements and other financial records. Assist with filing and maintaining accounting documents and records. Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation. Maintain petty cash records and ensure proper documentation. Prepare payment vouchers, journal entries, and data entry into accounting systems. Support payroll processing by compiling and verifying employee data. Respond to vendor and client inquiries regarding payments or invoices. Assist with inventory reconciliation and stock records. Maintain confidentiality of all financial data and sensitive information. Requirements Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proven experience as an accounting assistant or in a similar role is an advantage. Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, or Sage). Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of tax filing procedures and compliance.
