Assistant Manager of HVAC Operations

Job Summary

Surge Staffing is seeking an organized, motivated, and driven Assistant Manager – HVAC Operations to join a growing heating and cooling company. As the Assistant Manager – HVAC Operations, you will work closely with the President and Vice President to oversee residential HVAC installation and service projects for production builders, custom homebuilders, and residential customers. This role requires excellent organizational skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee HVAC projects from conception through completion.
• Coordinate and direct multiple project activities to ensure successful execution.
• Serve as the primary communication link between project management, field employees, and customers.
• Schedule HVAC installation and service technicians based on project priorities.
• Utilize scheduling, purchasing, pricing, and reporting software to manage daily operations.
• Assist in managing HVAC system design and installation processes.
• Assign crews, manage staffing levels, and coordinate employee schedules.
• Maintain clear communication with customers, technicians, vendors, and company leadership.
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, and employee development.
• Troubleshoot project and HVAC installation issues as they arise.
• Purchase HVAC equipment, parts, and materials while coordinating deliveries.
• Support accounting, bookkeeping, job costing, and project profitability tracking.
• Ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
• Work in the office, warehouse, and occasionally at construction sites as business needs require.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience in construction, manufacturing, project management, general labor, or a related industry.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Comfortable learning new software systems and business processes.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments.
• Ability to lift materials and work indoors, outdoors, in warehouses, and on construction sites as needed.
