Assistant Materials Controller Shall support the effective management of material master data and inventory control processes within the ERP system, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with Company procedures, MRP requirements, and internal controls. Key Responsibilities: • Assist in the creation, maintenance, and modification of Material Master data within the ERP system in accordance with approved MRP procedures and data governance standards. • Review and validate material master creation and change requests received from end users to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with procurement, inventory, and planning requirements. • Prevent duplication of material records by conducting thorough verification checks prior to material master creation. • Identify and analyze duplicate material records within the system and support corrective actions, including consolidation or blocking, in coordination with relevant stakeholders. • Monitor and control shelf-life–managed materials, including identification of expired and near-expiry stock, and coordinate timely disposition actions. • Analyze inventory performance by tracking aging, slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete stock, and highlight areas of concern to relevant stakeholders. • Prepare and distribute periodic inventory reports (including aging, expiry, excess, and stock status) to end users, planners, and other relevant departments. • Coordinate with end users, procurement teams, and warehouse personnel to address technical queries related to material specifications, procurement, and usage. • Support data governance initiatives, system audits, process improvements, and material master data clean-up activities. • Assist in the implementation of new initiatives, system enhancements, and process changes as directed by the Materials Controller or Management. • Ensure full compliance with Company policies, procedures, internal controls, and audit requirements related to materials management and inventory control. • Maintain accurate and complete documentation for all material master transactions, approvals, and reporting activities. • Act as a backup to the Materials Controller when required, ensuring continuity and reliability of materials management operations. Requirements Qualifications and Experience • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (including Instrumentation), with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in quality inspection within industries such as aluminium smelting, oil & gas, steel, or metal manufacturing. • Sound knowledge of quality inspection practices in accordance with recognized international standards (e.g., ISO, BS, DIN, BIS), with the ability to inspect mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation materials, spares, and consumables. • Proficient in computer applications with working knowledge of SAP (MM and/or QI modules), and capable of supporting warehouse operations including material inspection, documentation, stock control, and reporting activities.
