About this role

Reporting to the Director of Enrollment Marketing and Communications, the Associate Director manages the operational infrastructure that allows EMC to support Enrollment Management and Academic Engagement, schools and colleges, and university partners with speed, consistency, and quality. This role oversees intake, project flow, vendor coordination, budget tracking, campaign operations, performance reporting, and team accountability. The Associate Director serves as a key operational partner to the Director, helping translate partner needs and enrollment priorities into clear workstreams while maintaining momentum when the Director is unavailable. The Associate Director oversees the unit's operational center, spanning creative, digital marketing, email, web, social, content, events, and paid media: managing projects from intake to delivery, overseeing vendor relationships, supporting the budget, and ensuring the team's work reflects the quality LMU expects and EMC has built. This role also supports campus partners in building and executing campaigns that meaningfully contribute to enrollment objectives. The Associate Director is a key operational partner to the head of Enrollment Marketing and Communications. They support and represent EMC’s perspective in cross-campus conversations and preserve institutional context to maintain momentum without disruption when EMC leadership is unavailable. In partnership with EMAE, EMC’s work spans multiple divisions and several of campus partners. Effectiveness in this role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust across organizational lines alongside marketing and communications expertise.

Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Own EMC’s intake process, ensuring incoming requests are tracked, prioritized, and combined where appropriate; manage workflow standards and ensure team accountability, efficiency, and consistency, surfacing volume patterns, conflicts, and gaps to leadership as necessary.
  • Coordinate campaign calendars, production schedules, and campaign deployment across   channels to streamline reviews and approvals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor relationships, SOW management, and performance oversight, including contract management, performance accountability, and ensuring deliverables meet EMC and LMU standards.
  • Manage the unit's operating budget in partnership with the Director, including forecasting, order processing and payment, and expenditure tracking.
  • Establish intake requirements and determine whether requests are ready for production
  • Route, prioritize, delay, redirect, or escalate requests based on capacity and enrollment impact
  • Coordinate social media workflow and content calendar operations
  • Oversee promotional item/swag workflow and vendor coordination
  • Maintain operating dashboards for requests, campaign volume, deadlines, and capacity.
  • Develop and maintain EMC’s performance reporting, tracking campaign results, project output, and partner satisfaction to inform decisions and demonstrate unit impact.

Marketing Operations Partner Support

  • Serve as an operational partner for EMAE departments, schools and colleges, and other supported units, helping translate marketing and communications needs into defined projects, timelines, deliverables, and responsibilities. Support and execute integrated marketing campaigns for assigned enrollment initiatives and partner departments, spanning digital, email, content, web, and print.
  • Work with EMC leadership to align marketing execution with enrollment goals, contributing hands-on production and execution support.
  • Monitor campaign metrics and prepare performance summaries, recommendations, and operational insights for leadership review.

Team Leadership and Supervision

  • Supervise direct reports and student workers, providing clear direction, regular coaching, and honest performance feedback.
  • Represent EMC in cross-campus meetings and leadership conversations, carrying EMC’s institutional perspective, and exercise judgment to know when to decide and when to consult leadership as appropriate.
  • Model the standards EMC holds for quality, responsiveness, and stakeholder partnership.

Cross-Campus Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build working relationships with the departments and teams within EMAE, individual schools and colleges, and departments across the university to ensure aligned, effective marketing support.
  • Provide marketing support and guidance to campus partners, connecting their needs to EMC's capacity and timelines.
  • Share tools, templates, and practices that raise the quality and consistency of communications across the units EMC supports.

Quality Assurance and Brand Stewardship

  • Oversee operational execution of enrollment marketing campaigns, ensuring consistency with university brand standards, communications, and enrollment objectives, and editorial quality expectations
  • Contribute to documentation and processes that support consistency and scalability as the unit grows.
  • Hold a high standard for accuracy, accessibility, and audience-centered communication across all deliverables.
  • Performs relevant other duties as assigned or requested.

Requisite Qualifications

  • Typically a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in marketing communications or a conversion-focused marketing environment; higher education experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, vendor coordination, and budget oversight.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred, with the ability to set clear expectations, give honest feedback, and develop people.
  • Experience with CRM and marketing platforms preferred.
  • Working knowledge of marketing channels, including digital advertising, email, content, web, and print, with the ability to contribute across each.
  • Familiarity with sales or enrollment funnels and how marketing supports     prospect movement from awareness through decision; enrollment marketing a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort using data to inform decisions and measure   results.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple stakeholders without losing quality or momentum.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and work effectively across organizational lines in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.

Salary range

$88,000.00 - $98,000.00 Salary commensurate with education and experience.
