Job Description

Job Summary

The Corrosive Resistance Cooling Unit (CRCU) Mechanical Engineer will support the evaluation, definition, and development of advanced HVAC and thermal management solutions for mission-critical U.S. Government systems. This position will contribute to assessing existing cooling infrastructure, developing technical requirements, and supporting modernization efforts for demanding operational environments.

The engineer will participate in systems engineering, mechanical and HVAC design, thermal analysis, engineering trade studies, and subsystem integration activities. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will support Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) efforts to maintain requirements traceability, support system architecture development, and ensure design consistency throughout the program lifecycle.

The selected candidate will assist in translating customer and program requirements into practical engineering solutions, perform technical analyses, develop engineering documentation, and contribute to technical presentations and reviews. The role provides opportunities to work alongside senior engineers and government stakeholders while gaining experience in complex thermal management and mechanical systems.

Experience supporting government, aerospace, defense, or industrial engineering programs involving mechanical, HVAC, thermal management, or environmental control systems is preferred.

Job Requirements

  • Working knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including system design, thermal analysis, fluid systems, and subsystem integration.
  • Experience supporting engineering analyses, trade studies, requirements development, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams, including electrical, structural, controls, and manufacturing organizations.
  • Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), requirements management tools, or structured systems engineering processes is desired.
  • Familiarity with HVAC, cooling, thermal management, or environmental control systems is preferred.
  • Experience with engineering design and analysis tools such as CAD software, modeling tools, or thermal analysis software is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical reports, presentations, and engineering documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on assigned tasks while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Government, Department of Defense (DoD), aerospace, or industrial engineering programs is preferred.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline and 2-4 years of relevant engineering experience in mechanical design, HVAC systems, thermal management, systems engineering, or related technical fields.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD tools.
  • Experience performing thermal, airflow, or heat transfer analyses.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering processes, requirements verification, and technical reviews.
  • Experience supporting prototype development, testing, or fielded system modernization efforts.
  • Knowledge of military, aerospace, or mission-critical facility HVAC applications.

Security Requirements:

  • Active Secret clearance required or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
