Automotive Parts Specialist

Job Overview:

As an Parts Specialist with Christian Brothers Automotive, you are the first point of contact for our parts vendors, welcoming them with a warm and positive attitude. You will be responsible for managing the intake parts as they are delivered. You will also coordinate with our technicians to assess parts needs, order necessary parts if need be, and maintain inventory levels.  You will perform daily and monthly parts reconciliation, keep track of parts rerturns and warranty payments.  This position requires excellent general parts knowledge, organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both vendors, service advisors and technicians.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Receive all incoming parts in TekMetric and deliver them to the technician
  • Organize and manage the parts return shelf for local and dealership returns
  • Track returns and credits in TekMetric
  • Label all pre-ordered parts with printed repair orders and scheduled appointment dates
  • Queue returns from vendors in the appropriate return portal
  • Process parts warranty claims and monitor reimbursement status
  • Maintain and update accounts receivable tracking spreadsheets
  • Check bulk oil levels and order when needed
  • Track stocked cabin and engine air filters and order as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Driving record must be acceptable to our insurance carrier.
  • Prior computer and customer service experience required.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Excell and Google sheets.
  • Be able to type 50+ WPM.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and maneuver 50+ lbs.
  • High school education is a plus.
  • Good communication skills and a desire and ability to work with the public.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills required.
  • Previous experience as a counter person at an auto parts store is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds.
  • Be able to work with tools on vehicles lifted above their head.
  • Work in tight spaces as dictated by the vehicle’s needed repair.
  • Have the needed dexterity in order to efficiently use hand tools.
  • Walk/stand for the majority of their workday.
  • Drive manual transmissions vehicles.
  • Efficiently navigate a computer.
