Role Overview
We are seeking a logic-driven Backend Intern with a passion for building scalable server-side applications. As a member of our backend team, you will focus on the "engine room" of our products, ensuring that data flows seamlessly, securely, and efficiently. You will work primarily with Node.js and Express to power our web and mobile platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- API Development: Build and maintain RESTful APIs to support frontend features.
- Database Management: Write and optimize queries for [SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) or NoSQL (MongoDB)].
- Server Logic: Implement business logic, data validation, and authentication (JWT/OAuth) using Node.js.
- System Integration: Integrate third-party services like payment gateways (Stripe), email services (SendGrid), or cloud storage (AWS S3).
- Testing & Debugging: Write unit tests and debug server-side issues to ensure high system reliability.
- Documentation: Create clear API documentation using tools like Swagger or Postman.
What We’re Looking For
- Backend Foundations: Solid understanding of JavaScript/Node.js and asynchronous programming.
- Database Knowledge: Basic understanding of relational or non-relational database schemas.
- Architecture Basics: Familiarity with the MVC (Model-View-Controller) pattern.
- Tooling: Experience with Git for version control and npm/yarn for package management.
- Logical Thinking: Strong algorithmic skills and a knack for solving complex data puzzles.
- Eagerness to Learn: Ability to pick up new frameworks or architectural concepts quickly.
Bonus Points For
Familiarity with TypeScript in a Node environment.
Basic understanding of Docker or containerization.
- Experience with Socket.io for real-time communication.
