GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:

Assists the Executive Director of Employee Benefits in the administration and compliance of the College’s health and welfare benefit programs, retirement savings plans, BeLively wellness program, and leave of absence benefits. This includes processing, auditing, and managing workflows within the College’s benefit administration system, Workday.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide general administrative support for benefit and leave programs, including processing transactions, providing customer service, and managing outstanding tasks.

  • Process employee benefit elections, enrollments, benefit changes, and leave of absence requests in Workday, including maintaining all required documentation and ensuring accurate record keeping.

  • Manage Workday alerts and inbox tasks, including appropriate follow-up with employees or campus HR on missing documents, to ensure timely processing.

  • Process payroll adjustments due to benefit changes, enter timesheet data for employees on leave, and update employee contact information in Workday.

  • Monitor and respond to emails in the shared Benefits Hub inbox with a focus on first contact resolution.

  • Communicate with employees and campus Human Resources on leave of absence requests.

  • Maintain and update contact information for insurance carriers and other benefit vendors.

  • Process vendor notices and Evidence of Insurability notices in Workday.

  • Assist with audits throughout the year for employee benefits, leave of absence, and other benefits processes.

  • Assist in the evaluation and distribution of ACA health plan offers and 1095-C tax documents.

  • Maintain and protect the confidentiality of all employee files, ensuring accuracy of information.

SUPERVISION GIVEN: None

LOCATION: This position is remote, with the exception of coming on-site to our Systems Office located on our Indianapolis campus for mandatory trainings and/or meetings.

HIRING RANGE: $35,000 - $42,000 annually based on education, years of experience, and skills.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 

  • A high school diploma (or equivalent) with related benefit experience is required. An associate's degree with related benefit experience is preferred.

  • Experience with Workday or other HRIS or payroll processing systems is preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft’s suite of applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, required.

  • Must be self-motivated and possess a strong customer service focus. Demonstrated abilities to determine priorities, organize, and process high-volume, detailed work.

  • Must be able to compose correspondence and maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.
