About this role

Billing & Revenue Manager oversees day-to-day billing and revenue management activities and leads a team of eight, with responsibility for accurate and timely billing, strong controls, and team leadership. As the firm continues to grow through significant merger activity, the Manager will play a key role in conversions, change management, technology initiatives, and building scalable processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day billing and revenue management activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to strong internal controls.

  • Lead the billing workstream for mergers, from pre-close due diligence through post-close integration, including evaluating incoming firms' billing practices, transition planning and execution, and conversion to the firm's billing platform.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 8 professionals, with accountability for performance management, staff development, and workload prioritization.

  • Oversee complex billing issues, exceptions, and escalations, and drive timely resolution.

  • Serve as a trusted partner to advisors and client-facing colleagues, responding to billing and fee inquiries with clarity and responsiveness and supporting a strong client experience.

  • Partner closely with Finance, Technology, business teams, and other stakeholders on initiatives and changes that impact billing and revenue.

  • Lead the function through business and organizational change - assessing impacts, recommending solutions, and driving implementation as the firm grows and evolves.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to standardize, automate, and streamline processes, improving efficiency and building scalability.

  • Establish and monitor key metrics, controls, and procedures to strengthen performance and reduce risk.

  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders around initiatives, issues, and changes, maintaining strong working relationships across the organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in billing, revenue management, or a related finance function, including 3+ years managing people.

  • Experience in wealth management, investment management, or a similarly complex financial services environment.

  • Hands-on experience with the Orion billing platform, including configuring fee schedules and generating quarterly bills.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting mergers, conversions, system implementations, or other significant organizational changes.

  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, evolving environment, translating business change into practical solutions, processes, and execution plans.

  • Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

  • Experience partnering with Technology on system enhancements, testing, automation, and implementation.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and levels of the organization, including advisors and client-facing colleagues.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

    Technical & Functional Skills:

  • Familiarity with fee-billing concepts including a range of fee structures (tiered, blended, flat, asset-based), billing methodologies (advance vs. arrears; average daily balance vs. period-end), household aggregation, and proration logic.

  • Experience with custodial fee-file submission (e.g., Schwab, Fidelity) is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of internal controls and accounting concepts as they relate to revenue and receivables.

  • Advanced Excel proficiency (e.g., XLOOKUP, SUMIF, pivot tables, large-data reconciliation).

  • Experience with Addepar or similar portfolio management and billing platforms is a plus.

    What You'll Gain:

  • A high-impact leadership role at the center of the firm's growth, leading billing integration across an active and expanding merger pipeline.

  • Room to grow, with exposure to senior firm leadership and increasing scope and responsibility within billing and revenue management as the function scales.

  • Ownership of a highly visible function with meaningful autonomy and the ability to make a lasting mark on the organization.

Compensation Range:

$125,000-$150,000
