We're looking for an experienced Building Consultant to join our growing Building Consultancy team. This is an opportunity to work on some of Australia's most diverse property portfolios, providing trusted technical advice, delivering meaningful projects, and helping clients make informed decisions about their built assets.

About the Role

As a Building Consultant, you'll provide technical building and asset advice across a broad range of sectors including:

  • Commercial

  • Industrial

  • Retail

  • Education

  • Healthcare

  • Aged Care

  • Hospitality

  • Defence

  • Mining

  • Agribusiness

What You'll Be Doing

Building Consultancy & Advisory

  • Conduct building condition assessments and technical due diligence inspections.

  • Assess asset condition, compliance, performance, risk and functionality.

  • Prepare detailed technical reports and strategic recommendations.

  • Develop maintenance, repair and capital expenditure forecasts.

  • Produce asset management plans and lifecycle strategies.

  • Prepare scopes of work for repairs, upgrades and refurbishment projects.

Project Delivery

  • Manage refurbishment, replacement and repair projects from initiation through to completion.

  • Coordinate consultants, contractors and key stakeholders.

  • Monitor project progress, budgets and outcomes.

  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to a high standard.

Client Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

  • Understand client objectives and provide practical, commercially focused advice.

  • Participate in proposal and business development activities.

  • Support the delivery of exceptional client experiences.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute ideas that improve processes, systems and project delivery.

  • Support innovation within the Building Consultancy team.

  • Share knowledge and mentor junior team members.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical capability with excellent communication and client management skills.

Experience

  • Approximately 7-10 years' experience within the property, construction, engineering, building surveying or consultancy sectors.

  • 3-5 years' experience in a building consultancy, advisory or similar technical role.

  • Strong understanding of building fabric, structures, services and asset lifecycles.

  • Experience conducting building inspections and preparing technical reports.

  • Proven capability managing multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualification in:

    • Building Surveying

    • Building Engineering

    • Asset Engineering

    • Architecture

    • Construction Management

    • Or a related discipline

Professional accreditation such as:

  • RICS

  • CIOB

  • Engineers Australia

  • AIQS will be highly regarded.
