This role will work closely with the Change Lead, Comms Lead, Project teams, Programme Leads, Global Process Owners, senior stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure change is effectively implemented, embedded and sustained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Change management delivery: Lead and manage change activities across Finance Transformation initiatives of varying complexity and risk, supporting the adoption of new processes, technologies and ways of working.
  • Stakeholder mapping and persona development: Identify, analyse and segment impacted stakeholder groups, developing personas and engagement approaches that reflect their needs, concerns and levels of impact.
  • Change impact assessment: Work with project teams, subject matter experts and business stakeholders to assess what is changing, who is impacted and what support is required to enable successful adoption.
  • Communications planning: Support the Communications Lead to develop and deliver clear, targeted communications that keep stakeholders informed, engaged and aligned throughout the change journey.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Build strong working relationships with Finance leaders, SMEs and programme stakeholders, providing effective support and ensuring engagement remains active across multiple workstreams.

  • Business readiness and adoption: Develop, monitor and report on readiness and adoption activities, ensuring risks, dependencies, actions and areas of resistance are actively managed.
  • Problem solving and insight: Simplify complex information into clear insights, recommendations and practical actions that support decision-making and change delivery.
  • External insight and best practice:  Bring external insight, good practice and fresh thinking into the programme by staying connected with change management communities and networks.

Skills, knowledge and experience

Essential

  • Proven experience delivering change management within large transformation programmes involving multiple workstreams, stakeholders and delivery teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships quickly and work collaboratively across business, technology and programme teams.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into simple, role-relevant messages.
  • Experience developing stakeholder engagement plans, change impact assessments, readiness plans, adoption plans and supporting change deliverables.
  • Proactive and delivery-focused, with the ability to identify gaps, follow through on actions and maintain momentum across competing priorities.
  • Strong organisational skills, with experience tracking actions, managing dependencies and reporting progress in a structured way.
  • High attention to detail, particularly in relation to documentation, planning, tracking and reporting.
  • Experience supporting finance transformation, process improvement or technology-enabled change would be advantageous.

Nice to have

  • Relevant change management training, certification or professional accreditation, such as Prosci ADKAR, APMG Change Management or equivalent, would be beneficial.
  • Experience working in insurance, financial services or another regulated operational environment would be beneficial.

About Hiscox

As an international specialist insurer, we are far removed from the world of mass market insurance products. Instead, we are selective and focus on our key areas of expertise and strength - all of which is underpinned by a culture that encourages us to challenge convention and always look for a better way of doing things.

We ensure the unique and the interesting. And we search for the same when it comes to talented people. Hiscox is full of smart, reliable human beings that look out for customers and each other. We believe in doing the right thing, making good and rebuilding when things go wrong.

Everyone is encouraged to think creatively, challenge the status quo and look for solutions. Scratch beneath the surface and you will find a business that is solid, but slightly contrary. We like to do things differently and constantly seek to evolve. We might have been around for a long time (our roots go back to 1901), but we are young in many ways, ambitious and going places.

Some people might say insurance is dull, but life at Hiscox is anything but. If that sounds good to you, get in touch.

Diversity and flexible working at Hiscox

At Hiscox we care about our people. We hire the best people for the job, and we are committed to diversity and creating a truly inclusive culture, which we believe drives success.

Working life does not always have to be in the office so we have introduced hybrid working to encourage a healthy work life balance.

This hybrid working model is set by the team rather than the business to enable you to manage your own personal work-life balance. We see it as the best of both worlds; structure and sociability on one hand, and independence and flexibility on the other.
