flatfair is entering an ambitious phase of growth.
We’re scaling multiple products, evolving how we go to market and managing more priorities across the business.
We’re looking for a Chief of Staff who can help turn those priorities into action and make sure important cross-functional work keeps moving.
You’ll work directly with our CEO and leadership team, pulling together complex work, spotting where progress is getting stuck and helping the right people resolve it. You’ll need to be comfortable getting into the detail, but also know when a decision belongs with the project owner, leadership team or CEO.
You won’t be there just to track actions or update project plans. You’ll be expected to understand why something isn’t moving, help work through the issue and make sure the next step actually happens.
A big part of the role is making sure fewer things need the CEO to step in. You’ll help resolve issues at the right level, make sure decisions are properly thought through and documented, and create more space for the CEO to focus on strategy, growth and leadership.
The measure of success is simple: flatfair should execute better, faster and more consistently because you’re here.
Driving high-priority cross-functional work forward, with clear outcomes, ownership, plans and next steps.
Staying close enough to delivery to spot when something is going off track, understand why and help get it back on course.
Working through blockers, dependencies and competing priorities with the teams involved, rather than simply tracking or escalating them.
Making sure leadership decisions turn into clear actions and that commitments are followed through.
Pulling together complex issues for decision, including the relevant context, data, options and trade-offs, so the right person can make an informed call.
Giving the CEO and leadership team a clear, reliable view of progress, risks and where their input is genuinely needed.
Improving the way the leadership team plans, prioritises and follows through on company priorities.
Finding and delivering practical ways to make flatfair more productive, including simplifying processes, removing unnecessary work and making better use of automation and AI.
We care much more about what you’ve personally driven and helped deliver than your job title.
In your current or most recent role, you might already be a Chief of Staff, or working in Strategy & Operations, Transformation, Programme Leadership, Corporate Strategy or a similar cross-functional role.
You’ll need to show that you’ve:
Driven complex initiatives involving several functions and kept them moving through to delivery.
Taken ambiguous problems and turned them into clear plans, decisions and action.
Got close enough to delivery to understand why something was stuck and helped solve the problem.
Influenced and challenged senior people without relying on formal authority.
Pulled together complex information, turning it into clear options and recommendations.
Used data, commercial judgement and financial information to support decisions.
Improved the way teams or leadership groups plan, prioritise or follow through.
Worked successfully in a scaling or rapidly changing organisation.
We’re looking for someone who has moved beyond simply coordination, maintaining project plans or tracking actions for others. You’ll need to be comfortable taking responsibility for momentum, solving problems and pushing work towards an outcome, even when the final decision or functional ownership sits with someone else.
You’ll probably have around 5 to 8+ years of relevant professional experience, but capability matters more than tenure.
Experience in SaaS, FinTech, PropTech or another technology-enabled growth business would be useful, but it isn’t essential.
This role sits close to the decisions shaping the next stage of flatfair, but it’s also a very practical one.
You’ll work directly with the CEO and closely with leaders across Commercial, Product & Engineering, Customer Operations and Finance. You’ll have broad visibility across the business and real responsibility for improving how effectively we turn priorities into results.
There’ll be ambiguity, competing priorities and situations where the route forward isn’t obvious. We’re looking for someone who’ll get into the problem, create clarity and make sure something happens next.
Our values are Brave, Connected, Show Up and Welcoming. They shape how we challenge, collaborate and take responsibility for getting things done.
