The Cluster Chief Engineer is responsible for leading and overseeing all Engineering and Maintenance operations across both hotel properties, ensuring that facilities, equipment, and building systems are maintained safely, efficiently, and to the highest operational and brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Engineering operations and teams across both hotels.
- Ensure effective preventive and corrective maintenance of all MEP, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, BMS, fire and life safety systems, and hotel equipment.
- Conduct regular property inspections and ensure maintenance issues are addressed promptly.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance and asset replacement programs.
- Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Civil Defence, health and safety, and company standards.
- Manage Engineering budgets, expenses, CAPEX projects, contracts, and annual maintenance agreements.
- Lead energy conservation and sustainability initiatives to optimize electricity, water, and utility consumption.
- Manage renovations, refurbishments, technical projects, contractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure technical emergencies and equipment breakdowns are handled effectively with minimal disruption to hotel operations.
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop the Engineering team while promoting a strong safety and performance culture.
- Work closely with hotel departments to ensure Engineering operations support guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8–10 years of Engineering experience, preferably within luxury or upscale hospitality.
- At least 3–5 years in a senior Engineering leadership role, such as Chief Engineer or Director of Engineering.
- Multi-property or cluster Engineering experience is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of MEP, HVAC, BMS, fire and life safety systems, preventive maintenance, and building operations.
- Good knowledge of UAE/Dubai regulatory and safety requirements.
- Experience in budgeting, CAPEX, project management, energy management, and contractor management.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Excellent command of English.
