We’re looking for a hands-on, technically competent Team Lead with strong people skills who can enhance planning, coordination, and communication—so we use time effectively on the floor, work efficiently, and deliver better outcomes across production, with Column Pack as the hub.
About the role
As the Team Lead in Column Pack, you will be responsible for the operators’ day-to-day tasks and activities on the shop floor. You will set the framework for daily planning and prioritization, and create clear agreements, handovers, and expectations across Column Pack Support and Column Pack Operators. You will strive for shared ways of working between the two operator teams (Day/Evening), visual planning, and fixed routines so tasks are coordinated, communicated, and followed through. This is a hands-on, technical lead role without formal people-management responsibility.
Your responsibilities (not limited to)
- Establish and maintain joint day/weekly planning, including staffing and prioritization.
- Optimize handovers between Support and Operators; improve shift exchange, status updates, and escalation paths.
- Drive and implement standards, GMP/lean improvements, and audit readiness (Housekeeping, etc.).
- Ensure smooth cross-functional collaboration (together with Column Pack Support) with Purification, Maintenance, Engineering, Buffer Prep, Glass Washer, external stakeholders etc.
- Communicate clearly about changes, risks, and decisions; follow up and close out actions.
- Contribute to training and capability building—strengthening the craft of column packing.
Your profile
- Experience from drug substance production, preferably work with columns.
- Strong planning, coordination, and overview skills in a high-paced, specialized environment.
- Excellent people skills that build relationships, create shared direction, and can both challenge and work closely with Column Pack Support.
- Driven by quality and continuous improvement; structured, proactive, and solution oriented.
- Clear and precise communication—both verbal and written.
- Confidence to speak up and proactively raise concerns.
- Constructively push back when needed.
Working hours
- Monday – Friday, typically between 06:00–17:00.
- Occasionally afternoon / evening work may occur.
About the team:
The Column Pack team currently consists of 10 people:
- Six Operators working day/evening shifts from 06:00–22:00
- Four Column Pack Supporters who handle planning, documentation, and coordination with stakeholders and customers, setting operators up for success and supporting DSM with Column Pack–related work
Your responsibility will center around the operators ensuring that all column activities are completed correctly and on time on the shop floor.
