Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our team in Montreal. This position requires a strong understanding of construction management principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Your Role

  • Serve as the Resident Engineer and Construction Oversight Coordinator for the wastewater disinfection project at the Montréal Wastewater Treatment Plant (J.R. Marcotte).
  • Review and monitor project schedules.
  • Track and control project budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with site safety protocols.
  • Coordinate site meetings with general contractors, subcontractors, and the client.
  • Manage progress claims and prepare payment recommendations for the client.
  • Assist in coordinating the commissioning of building systems and mechanical equipment, piping, valves, and plumbing systems.
  • Lead and coordinate a team of site inspectors and supporting engineers.
  • Coordinate the review and communication of RFIs (Requests for Information) and shop drawings.
  • Negotiate and prepare change notices/orders.

Project Description

  • Effluent disinfection project for the J.R. Marcotte Wastewater Treatment Plant.
  • Engineering design and construction supervision for the largest ozone wastewater disinfection facility in the world.
  • Includes an oxygen production plant, an ozone generation facility, and a 315/25 kV electrical substation.
  • Plant capacity: 7,600,000 m³/day (representing approximately half of the wastewater generated in the Province of Quebec).
  • Project value: $750 million CAD.
  • Schedule:
    • Studies, design, and specifications: 2015 to 2022
    • Construction: 2022 to 2027

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Licensed member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • More than 15 years of relevant experience, including at least three years on projects in Quebec.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience on large-scale projects or equivalent infrastructure programs, including field experience in complex and highly regulated operational environments.
  • Knowledge of the municipal sector and public contracts.
  • Experience with multidisciplinary construction sites.
  • Knowledge of construction drawings and specifications, building codes, and quality standards used in Quebec.
  • Experience in project budget monitoring and cost control.
  • Proven proficiency in French (spoken and written); English is considered an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Project).
