Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
  • Respond to basic warranty calls and provide service-related support at the customer site.

  • Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment and verify proper operation.
  • Recommend solutions that improve facility efficiency, including opportunities to support quotes and additional service work.
  • Follow safety standards, attend required safety training, and maintain a strong focus on the safety of employees and subcontractors.

How You Will Do It

  • Load controller software carefully and verify the system is ready for commissioning before moving to the next step.
  • Work methodically from system-level controllers to end devices, confirming sensors, actuators, and related points operate as intended.
  • Keep customers, contractors, and management informed with timely, factual updates on progress, issues, and next steps.
  • Document changes clearly so as-built records and service notes remain accurate and useful for future work.
  • Use test equipment safely and consistently to validate calibration and support reliable system performance.
  • Approach each site as a trusted advisor by focusing on practical solutions, efficiency gains, and service outcomes that matter to the customer.

Qualifications

  • 2-year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a similar field, or at least 2 years of industry experience servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
