Counseling Psychology and Special Education - Counseling Psychology, Full-time CFS Professorial (Tenure-track equivalent)

Position Start Date: June 1, 2027

Required Degree: 

Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology or related field

The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Experience: 

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching graduate-level courses in counseling psychology content areas

  • Strong record or clear potential for high-quality research in counseling psychology

  • Experience mentoring and advising graduate students in field-based work and research

  • Demonstrated excellence in working as a counseling psychologist in clinical settings

  • Knowledge of APA accreditation requirements for counseling psychology programs

  • Licensed as a psychologist

Duties/Expectations: 

  • Teach graduate courses in counseling psychology

  • Mentor and supervise students in the Counseling Psychology Doctoral program

  • Conduct independent research

  • Ensure APA accreditation for the program

  • Active engagement in ongoing enhancement to improve program outcomes and student experiences

  • Support collaboration with Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

  • Support university, college, and department goals and mission (see: https://www.byu.edu/about)
