The Role and Responsibilities

A permanent opportunity has arisen within our Cranes and Lifting department for a Crane Mechanic to work offshore on a 2/2 rotational basis. This role will involve mobilising from Blackpool. You will be tasked with carrying out first line maintenance up to and including 12 monthly Planned Maintenance Routines and ensuring Crane integrity is maintained to current legislative, corporate and manufacturers recommendations. Other main duties and responsibilities will include;

  • Ensuring crane availability is attained to client specification
  • Carrying out planned maintenance routines ensuring spares & resources are planned and organised in a timely manner
  • Carry out maintenance repairs to offshore cranes
  • Carry out maintenance and repairs in accordance with safe systems of work
  • Identify tools and materials to complete job scope
  • Attend client maintenance update meetings, providing updates on current open work orders
  • Manage and maintain annual slew bearing condition monitoring data

It would be expected that a safe and comprehensive shift handover is conducted and recorded. You must also have a good understanding of the Management of Change process and be able to identify and initiate change management events on the job.

The Requirements

It is essential that you hold an NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Certificate or a recognised apprenticeship. Other client specific training will be required. You will hold valid UK offshore certificates. Previous Mechanical experience is also essential. It is preferred that you have previous experience working with cranes on or offshore. You will have the ability to work on your own initiative and have the ability to troubleshoot.
