Job Description – Azure Data Architect
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Azure Data Architect with strong expertise in designing and implementing scalable data solutions using Azure cloud services. The ideal candidate will have at least 4–5 years of architecture experience and hands-on skills in Databricks, SQL, Python, Azure Data Lake (ADL), and Azure Data Factory (ADF). This role requires a blend of technical depth, architectural vision, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to deliver cost-effective, high-performing data platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end data architectures on Azure, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
- Build and optimize data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Databricks.
- Develop and maintain data models, ETL processes, and queries in SQL and Python.
- Architect solutions leveraging Azure Data Lake (ADL) for structured and unstructured data storage.
- Define best practices for data governance, compliance, and security across Azure environments.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization of data systems.
- Provide guidance to data engineers and analysts on architectural standards and practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 4–5 years of proven experience in data architecture roles, preferably in Azure environments.
- Strong expertise in Databricks, SQL, Python, ADL, and ADF.
- Solid understanding of cloud-native data architectures and distributed computing.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and monitoring tools in Azure.
- Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and security frameworks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Power BI or other BI tools for data visualization and reporting.
- Familiarity with modern data architecture concepts such as Data Lakehouse or Data Mesh.
- Exposure to cost optimization strategies in cloud environments.
