Pay: $20.55

Function:

Successfully identifies and breaks out production lites of glass from large sheets of stoce glass and then places the production lites on the proper carrier in accordance with documented procedures for transfer to the next department.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Reads and understand department paperwork to verify production requirements. Breaks out usable smaller lites of glass from larger stoce glass. Inspects glass to ensure production and quality requirements have been met in accordance with documented procedures. Prepares carriers for glass being unloaded from the cutting machines. Places glass on correct carrier, in the proper sequence for the next department with the proper separators in accordance with documented procedures. Effectively operates the different area software applications. Performs daily routine maintenance and inspections. Maintains a clean and orderly working area. May perform other GPC functions as the need arises. Performs duties in accordance with the Business Process Documentation. Participates in Viracon’s Continuous Improvement efforts by understanding his/her team’s performance and actively implementing and supporting process improvements.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred. Ability to read and understand work instructions (English). Mathematical skills as related to measurements. Ability to communicate effectively and work as a team member. Knowledge of glass shapes and surfaces. Familiar and comfortable with operating hand and power tools. Basic keyboarding and computer skills. Problem solving skills. Ability to follow instructions and take supervision. In good physical condition. Ability to safely perform essential job responsibilities, using all approved safety equipment. Works well under pressure in and ever-changing environment. Regular full-time attendance. Promotes Viracon in a positive manner and obeys all policies.
