At Kainos, our Delivery Managers lead the successful end-to-end delivery of bespoke, greenfield software solutions for external customers. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll own project delivery, governance, commercial performance, and client relationships, ensuring outstanding outcomes for both our customers and Kainos.

You'll work closely with multidisciplinary agile teams to deliver high-quality digital products, while managing project financials, forecasting, risks, stakeholders, and team performance. Beyond successful delivery, you'll build trusted client partnerships, identify opportunities for growth, and help win follow-on work.

This role is ideal for an experienced Delivery Manager who combines strong delivery leadership with commercial acumen and a passion for building long-term client partnerships. You will thrive if you've successfully led agile teams to deliver bespoke software solutions, managed project P&L and margins, and turned delivery excellence into repeat business and account growth.

What we're looking for:

Essential experience:

  • Proven experience delivering bespoke, greenfield software development projects in agile environments for external clients.
  • End-to-end ownership of project delivery, including scope, schedules, budgets, governance, risk management, quality assurance, and reporting.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with experience managing project financials, forecasting, profitability, margins, and resource planning.
  • Demonstrable success building and maintaining senior client relationships and using successful delivery outcomes to support account growth and follow-on business.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing cross-functional delivery teams, including line management responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, digital product delivery, and emerging technology trends.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, customers, and delivery teams.
  • A collaborative, adaptable, and people-focused leadership style.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the delivery of complex digital products and platforms from inception through to live service.
  • Own project governance, financial performance, risk management, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Create high-performing, motivated teams that deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
  • Build trusted customer relationships and proactively identify opportunities to add value.
  • Work with Account Leads and Sales teams to support business development and secure profitable growth.
  • Ensure delivery excellence through strong governance, quality standards, and continuous improvement.

Desirable:

  • Experience delivering digital transformation programmes.
  • Evidence of growing existing customer accounts through successful delivery.
  • Project or Programme Management certification.
  • Experience working with user-centred design, analytics, and research disciplines.
