About this role

QualDerm Partners is currently hiring a Dermatology Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team in Schererville, IN. We specialize in comprehensive skin and aesthetics wellness services, including dermatology, skin cancer treatment, cosmetics, and plastic surgery. Our goal is to provide compassionate support to patients on their lifelong wellness journeys.

In this role, you will be instrumental in assisting with patient care and clinical operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. We seek candidates passionate about dermatology and focused on delivering exceptional service and care.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for appointments by collecting vital signs and detailed medical histories.
  • Assist physicians during examinations and dermatological procedures by providing necessary support and equipment.
  • Conduct basic laboratory tests and prepare necessary specimens for further analysis.
  • Maintain secure, accurate, and confidential patient records.
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling and support effective communication within the clinical team.
  • Educate patients on their treatment plans, medications, and skincare regimens.
  • Ensure examination rooms are clean, organized, and adequately supplied with medical materials.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a related healthcare clinical role is preferred.
  • Understanding of medical terminology, especially related to dermatology.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective patient and team interaction.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
  • Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and standard office software is advantageous.
