Design Technician
About this role
Discovery College is searching for a Design Technician who is responsible for working with the Design Department, teachers and students to support the smooth running of the department. Responsible for maintenance check and repair of machinery work.
Main Accountabilities
Safety maintenance & prep for students in design workshops and other learning environments
Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of learning material, equipment and resources (including preparation of, administration and resources for external examinations)
One-on-one supervision of students on hazardous machines or in potentially dangerous situations
Supporting students with techniques and understanding of the course material and assigned tasks
Technical support to staff and students, where possible
Assisting teachers in the classroom during lessons as required
Ordering and purchasing of materials as needed
Machine calibration and stock prep
Chemical and material management
Assisting with the preparation and mounting of Design work
Assisting with the preparation and administrative work for Design events
