DesignOps - Brasil
About this role
We are Nacar.
A solution-first creative partner helping ambitious organizations shape and deliver the right products, services and experiences — with clarity, rigor and creative excellence.
Rooted in Palo Alto, Barcelona, and with studios in Bilbao, Guadalajara, Porto Alegre and China, we're a global team of 130+ Nacarians from more than 23 nationalities. This role will be based in our Porto Alegre studio.
Twenty years, 70 design awards and 10+ client ecosystems later, we've learned that creativity is only worth something when it turns into real solutions. That's why we work in a way that connects craft with systems — building things that don't just look right, but perform, scale and generate measurable value for our clients.
A Nacarian is a creative orchestrator, shaped by Criteria, Adaptability and Ownership. Someone who reads complexity, anticipates what matters, and moves fast with intent. We come from different disciplines — strategy, research, industrial and digital design, brand, service, engineering — but we share the belief that great ideas only matter when they become real.
Nacar is entering a new chapter. We're strengthening our capabilities, growing into new markets, and building the organization that will shape what's next. With a hybrid work model and flexible hours, we're powered by a culture of communication, collaboration and ownership — with the ambition of becoming the trusted creative decision partner for the leaders redefining the future of their industries.
If you're excited by building — not just joining — this is a great moment to be here.
Is this something you feel identified with?
We're currently looking for a DesignOps professional to join our Porto Alegre studio and work with one of our top-tier global clients — orchestrating UX and portfolio delivery across multiple active design squads. This is the person who makes design teams run smoothly: planning capacity, allocating the right people to the right challenges, anticipating risks, and creating the operational conditions that let designers do their best work.
-What will your day to day be like?-
You will:
Plan, estimate, assign and review design tasks across multiple active squads — ensuring the right level of effort, ownership and quality on each initiative.
Formulate portfolio staffing plans — matching designers to squads based on skills, seniority, workload and project needs.
Develop risk and mitigation plans for design delivery — anticipating bottlenecks, dependencies and capacity gaps before they impact timelines.
Build and maintain stakeholder engagement frameworks — clarifying who needs to be involved, when and how, to keep design work aligned with product and business priorities.
Participate in and help facilitate global design quality assurance critique rituals — ensuring consistency and craft across squads.
Track team capacity, utilisation and delivery health — surfacing insights that support better resourcing and planning decisions.
Improve and document operational workflows — intake, prioritisation, handoff, review cycles and design rituals — creating clarity where there was ambiguity.
Support onboarding, tooling and access management for designers across squads.
Act as the operational bridge between design leadership, product management and cross-functional partners — translating strategic priorities into actionable delivery plans.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement — collecting feedback from the design team and iterating on ways of working.
-What are we looking for?-
5+ years of experience in DesignOps, Design Program Management, UX Operations, Delivery Management or similar roles supporting design or product teams.
Proven experience planning, estimating and allocating design work across multiple concurrent squads or workstreams.
Strong understanding of UX and product design processes — enough to speak the language of designers and make sound resourcing and prioritisation decisions.
Track record of building operational frameworks — staffing plans, risk mitigation, stakeholder engagement models and delivery rituals.
Excellent stakeholder management skills — able to navigate complex organisations and build trust with designers, product managers, engineering leads and senior stakeholders.
Strong organisational and communication skills — comfortable creating clarity in ambiguous environments and making progress visible to the wider organisation.
Comfortable with tools such as Jira, Asana, Figma, Notion or equivalents — and quick to adopt new ones.
Data-informed mindset — able to track capacity, utilisation and delivery metrics, and turn them into actionable recommendations.
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Nice to have:
Experience supporting distributed or global design teams across multiple time zones.
Familiarity with design systems, design tool licensing and governance practices.
Prior experience as a designer or researcher before moving into operations.
-Why should you join?-
This is a unique opportunity for someone looking for a challenge in the DesignOps and delivery management area and to be part of a center of innovation that is impacting clients all over the world — joining our growing Porto Alegre studio and orchestrating design work at scale for a top-tier global client 🙂
