About the Role
We're hiring our founding Developer Advocate in Chennai to drive go-to-market through developer education, video content, and community. You'll be the face and voice of Revolte to developers — creating product demos and tutorials, building an engaged developer community, and turning developer feedback into product insight. This is a high-ownership role reporting directly to the founding team, sitting at the intersection of engineering, content, and GTM.
What You'll Do
- Video & content creation: Own end-to-end video content — product demos, tutorials, launch videos, YouTube long-form and Shorts/Reels showing Revolte's agentic workflows, CLI, and real build-deploy-operate use cases
- Technical writing: Write technical blogs, tutorials, sample projects, and quickstarts that help developers go from sign-up to first deployed app
- Community engagement: Build and run our developer community — Discord/Slack, GitHub discussions, office hours, webinars; be the first responder developers trust
- Events & evangelism: Represent Revolte at meetups, conferences, and hackathons across Chennai, Bangalore, and India's developer ecosystem; deliver live demos and talks
- GTM support: Drive launch moments (Product Hunt, feature releases), grow our presence on X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Reddit, and partner with founders on developer GTM campaigns
- Feedback loop: Channel community feedback, friction points, and feature requests into the product roadmap; contribute to docs and DX improvements
- Metrics: Own DevRel metrics — signups, activation, community growth, content reach — and report what's working
What We're Looking For
- Engineer first: 3–6 years total experience with a foundation in software engineering (full-stack, DevOps, platform, or solutions engineering) — you can code, demo live, and hold your own with senior engineers
- Technical stack: Hands-on with the modern SDLC: Git/GitHub, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and at least one cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure); comfortable with JavaScript/TypeScript or Python
- AI fluency: Working knowledge of AI coding and agentic tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, LLM APIs) and genuine curiosity about AI-driven software delivery
- Content track record: Proven public technical content — YouTube videos, conference/meetup talks, blogs, or open-source projects (portfolio required)
- On-camera presence: Comfortable on camera and on stage; basic video production/editing skills (e.g., OBS, Descript, Premiere, CapCut)
- Communication: Excellent spoken and written English; strong storytelling that turns complex engineering into clear narratives
- Location: Based in Chennai or willing to relocate; open to travel for events across India
Nice to Have
- Prior DevRel/Developer Advocate experience at a dev-tools, cloud, or AI company
- An existing developer audience (YouTube, X, LinkedIn, newsletter)
- Community leadership — GDG, AWS User Group, hackathon organizing, open-source maintainership
- Experience with DevOps/platform engineering topics (DORA metrics, observability, IaC/Terraform)
- Tamil fluency for local community building
