Role Overview
We are seeking a high-caliber Senior SEO & AEO Strategist to lead the digital visibility and architectural evolution of a premier global luxury publishing house. This is a sophisticated technical leadership role requiring a blend of Large-scale Data Migration, Technical SEO, and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO).
The ideal candidate will be responsible for safeguarding the organic equity of a massive content library (120,000+ URLs) while positioning the portfolio as the authoritative voice in luxury lifestyle within the age of AI-driven search (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.).
Key Responsibilities
1. Complex Site Migration & Architecture
- High-Volume Migration: Lead the technical strategy for merging multiple high-authority domains and consolidating legacy content (100k+ URLs).
- Redirect Mapping: Design and execute a robust 301-redirect architecture to ensure zero loss of link equity during platform transitions.
- Information Architecture: Optimize site hierarchy and internal linking structures to maximize crawl budget efficiency and user discovery across a multi-vertical portfolio.
2. AEO & GEO (AI Search Optimization)
- Generative Engine Optimization: Develop strategies to ensure brand content is featured as a "cited source" in AI-powered search engines (Perplexity, Gemini, ChatGPT).
- Advanced Structured Data: Implement sophisticated JSON-LD schemas (Article, Product, Organization, Person) to facilitate seamless data ingestion by Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Knowledge Graph Management: Manage brand entities to ensure accuracy in AI-generated summaries and Knowledge Panels.
3. Technical & Editorial SEO Excellence
- Technical Audits: Conduct deep-dive audits focusing on Core Web Vitals, Rendering (JavaScript), and Mobile-First Indexing for luxury-tier websites.
- Multilingual Strategy: Oversee hreflang implementation and localized SEO for global markets (English, French, German).
- Content Authority: Partner with editorial teams to implement E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness) frameworks that align with luxury brand standards.
4. Performance Intelligence
- Analytics Governance: Manage and audit Google Search Console (GSC) and GA4 across a diverse domain portfolio.
- Business-Value Reporting: Define KPIs that move beyond simple rankings, focusing on "Search Intent" and conversion metrics for high-value memberships and e-commerce.
Required Qualifications
- Professional Experience: 6+ years in SEO, with at least 3 years specifically within Digital Publishing, Media Houses, or High-End E-commerce.
- Migration Mastery: Proven track record of successfully managing at least one site migration/consolidation exceeding 100,000 URLs.
- Technical Toolkit:
- Expert-level proficiency in Screaming Frog, Log File Analysis, and Enterprise Crawlers.
- Deep understanding of WordPress ecosystem and headless CMS environments.
- Experience with BigQuery or Python for SEO to manage large-scale data sets.
