Are you a visionary and hands-on Director, Enterprise Data Platform Strategy & Engineering with a passion for transforming data into actionable insights that power healthcare? Highmark Health is seeking an exceptional leader to define, architect, and execute the future of our enterprise data platform, playing a pivotal role in shaping how we leverage data to improve health outcomes and drive innovation.

You will lead and scale high-performing engineering teams, championing modern data practices like Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, DataOps, and platform self-service.

We require extensive expertise in modern cloud-native data platforms, particularly within GCP (preferred, with experience in AWS/Azure also valued), utilizing technologies such as Spark, Flink, Kafka, Airflow, BigQuery, Presto/Trino, Iceberg, and dbt for advanced analytics engineering. Beyond technical prowess, you must possess significant healthcare industry knowledge, including a deep understanding of FHIR, HL7, PHI management, and HIPAA-compliant platform development, with a proven ability to translate complex clinical, claims, and operational data into impactful solutions.

The ideal candidate is an exceptional communicator and influencer, adept at bridging highly technical concepts with business stakeholders and executive leadership. If you are a strategic leader eager to build, innovate, and drive excellence in a complex, data-rich healthcare environment, and you thrive on solving challenging problems while mentoring top talent, we invite you to lead our journey toward a more data-driven future at Highmark Health.
