Directs the planning, organizing, and implementation of all aspects for Health Academics space planning and related project scoping process within the University of Utah Health. Scope of responsibility includes oversight ofcurrent health academics space planning for 3 million plus square feet. Responsible for future health academics system space planning including oversight of a team of Health Academics Facility Planners, focusing on project scoping, capacity planning studies, cost estimation coordination and design services. Oversees space inventory management databases and processes.Responsible for all aspects of the space planning project approval process. Partners and coordinates with the University board of Trustees processes for project approvals. May work closely with senior management, internal resources,external partners, and vendors for project support and space planning. Will interact with cross campus academic partners in Real Estate administration for space planning, lease arrangements and cost controls to ensure they align with overall business objectives and goals. Gathers and analyzes project information, inventory control, planning and implementation schedules, material requirements, production plans, and space layouts. Develops documents that eliminate potential design issues and problems. Uses analytical reports to set and monitor schedules. Ensures that scheduling of work meets company policies, and all quality and research or education standards. Reports within the System Planning department and works with organizational leaders to successfully scope projects and strategically manage space requests and associated projects. The incumbent will oversee a team of health academics facility planners, and other roles in project administration. This position is not responsible for providing direct patient care.
