About this role
We're looking for a freelance Senior Technical Designer with deep denim expertise to support fit, construction, and quality our denim line for [hands-on, senior-level engagement — you'll ensure technical technical standards for the category are met and will partner closely with the existing team, design, merchandising, sourcing, and factories from concept through bulk production. Responsibilities
Support technical design team during the engagement: assist with creating fit blocks, grading rules, maintain construction standards, and spec architecture across the assigned denim assortment
Partner with design team to create tech packs for new seasonal styles
Hold fit sessions on live models, making final fit calls and setting fit intent for the category
Partner with wash/laundry teams and vendors to solve for shrinkage, distortion, and wash-to-wash consistency; troubleshoot recurring issues at the root-cause level
Work closely with in house patternmakers and factories, ensuring fit accuracy
Qualifications
6-8+ years of technical design experience, with substantial depth in denim/bottoms
Expert-level knowledge of denim construction, wash processes (enzyme, stone, laser, etc.), and their effects on fit and shrinkage
Proven track record leading fit sessions and making final, confident fit decisions
Strong pattern-making and grading knowledge
Proficiency in Illustrator, Excel, and knowledge of digital patternmaking a plus
