Reid Accountants + Advisors is an independent, full-service accounting and advisory firm specializing in accounting and consulting services for businesses and individuals. We currently have offices in Long Island, NYC, White Plains and South Carolina. Join a rapidly growing organization with a strategic vision and dynamic plan.
We are seeking an experienced Director, Tax & Accounting to join our team. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and accounting within the organization. They play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with tax laws and regulations, and implementing strategies to minimize tax liabilities while maximizing financial efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Lead complex tax engagements, including planning, compliance, review, research, and strategic advisory services.
Review complex Individual, Fiduciary, Corporate, Partnership, and Multistate tax returns and provide technical guidance on complex tax matters.
Serve as a trusted advisor and primary relationship leader for key clients, identifying tax strategies, risks, and planning opportunities.
Stay current on tax laws and regulatory developments and translate changes into actionable recommendations for clients.
Lead engagement planning, staffing, workflow, and quality while keeping Partners informed of significant client and technical matters.
Mentor and develop Managers, Seniors, and staff while fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
Identify opportunities to expand client relationships, introduce additional firm services, and support practice growth.
Collaborate with Partners and firm leadership on client initiatives, operational improvements, and strategic priorities.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and active CPA license required.
7+ years of public accounting experience within a CPA firm, including progressive leadership responsibility.
Strong technical expertise across Individual, Fiduciary, Corporate, Partnership, and Multistate taxation.
Demonstrated experience leading complex tax engagements, managing client relationships, and developing accounting professionals.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and project management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards for quality and client service.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience serving real estate clients.
Proficiency with Thomson Reuters UltraTax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, and Intuit products.

Work Location: Hybrid
Ability to commute/relocate: New York; Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
