Reid Accountants + Advisors, is hiring! Reid Accountants + Advisors is an independent, full-service accounting and advisory firm specializing in accounting and consulting services for businesses and individuals. We currently have offices in Long Island, NYC, White Plains and South Carolina. Join a rapidly growing organization with a strategic vision and dynamic plan.

We are seeking an experienced Director, Tax & Accounting to join our team. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and accounting within the organization. They play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with tax laws and regulations, and implementing strategies to minimize tax liabilities while maximizing financial efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex tax engagements, including planning, compliance, review, research, and strategic advisory services.

  • Review complex Individual, Fiduciary, Corporate, Partnership, and Multistate tax returns and provide technical guidance on complex tax matters.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and primary relationship leader for key clients, identifying tax strategies, risks, and planning opportunities.

  • Stay current on tax laws and regulatory developments and translate changes into actionable recommendations for clients.

  • Lead engagement planning, staffing, workflow, and quality while keeping Partners informed of significant client and technical matters.

  • Mentor and develop Managers, Seniors, and staff while fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.

  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships, introduce additional firm services, and support practice growth.

  • Collaborate with Partners and firm leadership on client initiatives, operational improvements, and strategic priorities.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and active CPA license required.

  • 7+ years of public accounting experience within a CPA firm, including progressive leadership responsibility.

  • Strong technical expertise across Individual, Fiduciary, Corporate, Partnership, and Multistate taxation.

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex tax engagements, managing client relationships, and developing accounting professionals.

  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and project management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards for quality and client service.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience serving real estate clients.

  • Proficiency with Thomson Reuters UltraTax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, and Intuit products.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00AM – 5:30PM

Work Location: Hybrid

Ability to commute/relocate: New York; Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
