DRILL & BLAST TECHNICIAN
About this role
We are seeking a Drill & Blast Technician to support the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of drilling and blasting operations. The successful candidate will ensure drill and blast designs are accurately implemented in the field, monitor operational activities, perform quality control inspections, and maintain compliance with company standards, safety procedures, environmental requirements, and applicable regulations.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Safely execute drilling and blasting activities in accordance with approved designs, operational requirements, and safety standards.
Accurately monitor drill parameters, blast patterns, and field activities to ensure quality and production targets are achieved.
Continuously optimize blast performance, fragmentation, powder factor, and explosive utilization to improve efficiency.
Proactively improve equipment utilization and productivity by identifying opportunities to reduce downtime.
Effectively maintain records, support risk management, and promote safety and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will have:
NATIN diploma in Mining, or equivalent or a related technical discipline.
Relevant 3-5 years’ experience in Drill & Blast operations in an open pit mining experience, or related fields is an advantage but not mandatory.
Knowledge of drill and blast design principles, blast optimization, and quality control practices.
Excellent skills in quality control and verification of drilling and blasting activities.
Ability to interpret drill and blast designs, plans, and technical drawings.
Willingness to work in Brokopondo on a rotational schedule of 14 days of work followed by 7 days break
Good communication and interpersonal skills in Dutch and English.
If selected, you will be required to submit a Police Clearance Certificate (“Bewijs van Goed Gedrag”). Please initiate the request at your respective District Commissariat.
