  • Full-Time Term to November 1, 2026 (subject to end with 2 weeks/1 pay period notice, whichever is longer)

St.Amant supports over 5,000 people in Manitoba with developmental disabilities, autism and acquired brain injury. About our Centre:

  • We are located at St.Amant’s head office, 440 River Road
  • We are open from 7:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday
  • We support infant and preschool aged children
  • We are a program inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach and practice Circle of Security® as a relationship based early intervention
  • We are fortunate to have large outdoor green space with a forest that we use daily

Position Summary and Scope of Service:

  • The ECE II/III is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a play based, child centred emergent curriculum for infants to preschool age children.
  • A primary responsibility of the ECE II/III is to plan and implement interactions, environments and experiences based on inclusion and diversity of the individual needs, interests and abilities for each child.
  • The ECE II/III is responsible for the overall care and well-being of the children according to the Manitoba Child Day Care Standards Act and the mission and values of St.Amant and River Road Child Care.
  • The position involves both direct interactions with the children and the provision of guidance for Child Care Assistants as they support the children in our programs.
  • The ECE II/III is also responsible for programming, team collaboration, resource management, safety and quality improvement, planning and development

Qualifications:

Educational:

  • Community College diploma (2 year) or Undergraduate Degree which meets the requirements for classification as an Early Childhood Educator II/III with the Manitoba Child Day Care Office
  • Valid Emergency First Aid Certificate and CPR certificate as prescribed by the Manitoba Child Day Care Standards Act -Holds a valid Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Check

Personal:

  • Function effectively as a team member
  • Contribute to effective employee relationships within a unionized environment
  • Physical ability to use low chairs and to lift, transfer, feed and toilet children
  • Physically able to wash and disinfect toys and move small furniture and child care equipment
