Our UK Land, Development & Planning team is growing, and we're looking for talented Economic Development professionals to join our nationally recognised Economic Development & Appraisal (EDA) team.

This is an opportunity to work on some of the UK's most significant regeneration, infrastructure and investment programmes, helping shape the future of towns, cities and communities.

About the team

Our Economic Development & Appraisal team specialises in promoting sustainable economic growth through expert advice on land, property and infrastructure. We combine deep real estate expertise with economic development, appraisal and place-based strategy to help clients make informed investment decisions.

Our work includes:

  • HM Treasury Green Book business cases

  • Economic impact assessments

  • Funding strategies

  • Project feasibility studies

  • Economic and market demand assessments

  • Business and investment planning

  • Evaluation and monitoring

  • Regeneration and place-based strategies

Our clients include government departments, local authorities, Mayoral Combined Authorities, Homes England, investors and developers.

We're retained on major public sector frameworks, including the Homes England Strategic Research, Economics and Evaluation Framework, and advise on nationally important initiatives including:

  • National Housing Delivery Fund

  • Brownfield Housing Fund

  • Integrated Settlements

  • Investment Zones

  • Freeports

  • New Towns

  • Major regeneration and city centre renewal programmes

  • Large-scale employment and infrastructure projects

The opportunity

We're looking for a Consultant, Senior Consultant or Associate to support the continued growth of our Economic Development business.

You'll work alongside experienced specialists on high-profile projects while helping to grow our client relationships and market presence.

We're open to candidates from a variety of backgrounds. Consultancy experience is desirable, but we're equally interested in individuals with strong economic development experience gained in the public or private sector.

This is a national opportunity, with flexibility around office location and hybrid working.

What we're looking for

  • A genuine passion for economic development, regeneration and placemaking

  • A degree or professional background in economics, economic development or a related discipline

  • Experience preparing business cases, economic appraisals or cost-benefit analysis

  • Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent report writing and communication skills

  • The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

  • Commercial awareness and a collaborative approach

Experience within the property sector is advantageous but not essential, and RICS qualification is not required.

Why Cushman & Wakefield?

You'll join a collaborative, ambitious team working on projects that have a genuine impact on communities and economic growth across the UK.

In return, you'll benefit from:

  • Exposure to nationally significant regeneration and infrastructure projects

  • A supportive and collaborative culture

  • Clear opportunities for career progression

  • Flexible hybrid working

  • The chance to develop your expertise alongside some of the industry's leading economic development specialists

If you're looking to build your career while helping shape the future of places across the UK, we'd love to hear from you.
