Join a growing engineering team supporting industrial process and manufacturing projects. We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Designer with a strong background in electrical power distribution, instrumentation and controls, and industrial facility design.

Overview:
Seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Designer with 5+ years of industrial experience supporting process and manufacturing projects. This role is responsible for electrical and instrumentation design, calculations, construction support, equipment specifications, and preparation of engineering deliverables from conceptual design through construction.

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industrial electrical and instrumentation drafting/design experience.

  • Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting preferred.

  • Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and ISA standards.

  • Experience developing electrical and instrumentation design packages for process/manufacturing facilities.

Technical Expertise

  • Electrical design calculations including lighting, voltage drop, conduit fill, tray fill, wire sizing, overcurrent protection, and load calculations.

  • Development of MCC single lines, electrical room layouts, cable schedules, grounding, lighting, power, instrumentation plans, connection diagrams, and control panel layouts.

  • Instrumentation design including control valve sizing, instrument datasheets, analyzer specifications, control systems, and actuated valves.

  • Ability to develop equipment specifications for MCCs, VFDs, motors, and substations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed engineering designs, calculations, specifications, and construction packages.

  • Review vendor drawings, fabrication drawings, and construction submittals.

  • Perform field investigations, tie-ins, startup support, and construction support activities.

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and provide technical guidance to junior personnel.

  • Assist with cost estimates, material takeoffs, schedules, budgets, and procurement packages.

Ideal Candidate

  • Strong design and layout experience in industrial facilities.

  • Proficient in engineering and CAD drafting standards.

  • Able to manage multiple deliverables while meeting project schedules.

  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and cross-functional communication skills.

  • Experience supporting remote and interoffice project execution teams.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.

Important Details

  • This is a fully on-site position. Daily on-site presence is required.

  • Hybrid and remote work arrangements are not available.

  • Local candidates will receive preference. Relocation assistance is not offered.
