About this role

We are recruiting an Electrical Engineer – Utility-Scale Solar Projects on behalf of our client, a global leader in EPC and O&M services for utility-scale solar power plants. As their project pipeline in Romania expands, this hands-on role will join the on-site execution team in Arad.

In this role, you will oversee and support all electrical installation activities for large-scale PV projects — covering DC and AC systems, MV/HV infrastructure, inverters, transformers, and grid connection works — ensuring safe, timely, and compliant execution in line with technical specifications, IEC standards, and grid operator requirements.

This role is project-based for approximately 2 years, with the possibility of extension.

If you’re ready to work directly in the field and contribute to Romania’s renewable energy growth, apply now and let’s see if it’s a match.

Main Responsibilities

Site Execution & Supervision

  • Supervise installation of DC systems: strings, DC cables, connectors, combiner boxes

  • Coordinate AC LV/MV works: inverters, LV/MV panels, transformers

  • Support MV/HV installation works: cables, terminations, substations, switchgear

  • Supervise grounding and bonding systems

  • Ensure compliance with approved electrical drawings and layouts

  • Coordinate with mechanical completion for stringing readiness

  • Coordinate with civil teams for trenches, cable routes, and equipment foundations

Quality & Technical Control

  • Review IFC drawings, single-line diagrams, and electrical documentation

  • Ensure compliance with technical specifications and OEM requirements

  • Supervise testing activities: continuity and insulation tests (Megger), string testing (IV curve), MV/HV equipment testing

  • Support energization and synchronization activities

  • Assist in QA/QC inspections and management of NCRs and corrective actions

Subcontractor Coordination

  • Supervise electrical subcontractors and installation teams

  • Monitor DC/AC cabling progress and equipment installation

  • Ensure compliance with Method Statements and HSE standards

  • Monitor productivity and execution quality

  • Support subcontractor performance evaluation

Planning & Reporting

  • Monitor daily and weekly installation progress

  • Support sequencing of works (DC → AC → MV → HV)

  • Report installed quantities and project progress

  • Identify bottlenecks, missing equipment, and execution risks

  • Support recovery plans to maintain the project schedule

Testing, Commissioning & Grid Connection

  • Support pre-commissioning activities

  • Participate in commissioning and energization

  • Assist during synchronization and grid compliance tests

  • Coordinate with inverter, transformer, and equipment suppliers

  • Support PAC / FAC activities and final handover

HSE & Site Coordination

  • Ensure safe execution of all electrical activities

  • Monitor high-risk operations such as energization and live works

  • Participate in toolbox talks and electrical risk assessments

  • Coordinate closely with the Mechanical and Civil teams

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Power Engineering

  • 3–5 years’ experience in construction or industrial projects; utility-scale solar is a strong advantage
