The Enclosing Operator supports the safe, accurate and efficient running of the Mansfield outbound production operation. The role focuses on operating and supporting enclosing and finishing equipment, completing quality checks, maintaining accurate production records, and helping the team deliver mail packs to customer requirements and agreed service levels.
Working Hours: Rotating Two-shift pattern: 6:00AM to 2:00PM and 2:00PM to 10:00PM.
Responsibilities
Operate and support enclosing and finishing equipment, including CMC mailing machines, Bowe Fusion mailing machines, pressure sealers, folding equipment and consolidators where trained and authorised.
Set up work in line with the job specification, production schedule, work instructions and site quality controls.
Carry out start-up, in-process and end-of-job checks to confirm the correct documents, inserts, envelopes, postage formats and job counts are being used.
Monitor machine performance throughout the run and escalate jams, recurring faults, quality issues or downtime promptly to the Team Leader, Engineering or Planning as appropriate.
Complete production paperwork, system updates, reconciliation records and handover notes accurately and on time.
Carry out routine operator maintenance, housekeeping and cleaning tasks to keep equipment and work areas safe, organised and production-ready.
Support consumable stock checks and highlight shortages of envelopes, paper, inserts, labels or other production materials before they affect output.
Work flexibly across the production area to support workload, service level requirements, overtime and cross-training needs.
About You
Enclosing machine experience - essential
CMC mailing machine experience - desirable
Experience in print, mail, fulfilment, production, manufacturing or a similar fast-paced operational environment is desirable.
Good attention to detail with the ability to follow written work instructions and verbal direction accurately.
Confident with basic computer use, production recording and job tracking systems, or willing to learn.
Able to work as part of a team and communicate clearly during handovers, downtime escalations and quality checks.
